Lotte Layzell

Hi I am Lotte, I manage your magical world of Hartbeeps South East London. As well as also being Mum to Daisy, Ronnie, Peggy and Frank.

Before I established my own sessions in 2014, I had been involved and worked with Hartbeeps for a several years and of course absolutely loved it. So I couldn't wait to jump at the chance of venturing down the rabbit hole and owning my very own part of Baby land in South East London.

I started my classes in Crystal Palace soon after becoming a Mum to my daughter Daisy in February 2014. Since then I have had the most wonderful time doing what can only be described as the best and most rewarding job in the world.

It has been great fun bringing the magic each week to so many tiny babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers and watching so many little ones grow with Hartbeeps.

Hartbeeps baby classes are specially created to help newborns, babies and young children learn, explore, develop great social skills and attain their appropriate developmental milestones while still being super fun.

Being a parent in class is fun too, all you need to do is shake away your adult norm and join your children in their make believe world. Where together you get the opportunity to dress up, be silly, make your children laugh, sing, bond, play but also to see your little ones, playing, pretend and grow in confidence. Its amazing to watch them just being themselves..

So without further ado we invite you to meet the Numma's, take a stroll with our very own jazz cat Dexter cat, shake your tail feather with Lola the Flamingo and to don your duck feet or dinosaur tail to join the biggest baby rave in town.

Lola - Imaginator

I am a Graduate of Goldsmith College, graduating in Drama and Theatre Arts.

Before graduating I wrote and performed two productions of my own the first play was called “Stranger Things Have Happened" which was performed at the Broadway Theatre Catford the second was called “Blues In My Life" a one woman show about the life of one of America's greatest Jazz legends Billie Holiday, Performed at the Latchmere Theatre Battersea.

Since graduating I have worked with various Theatre companies and Independent filmmakers on feature and short films as well as producing theatre plays of my own in London and outside London...

I have facilitated after school drama workshops with primary schools in Lewisham working with YR's 2-6; using elements of both African and Western theatre I have just recently completed a residency at the Arcola Theatre in East London, working on a project that I started researching in 2013; the short piece titled “OUR WAR" was performed in 2015 and is now being developed into a full length play.

As a mum of a very energetic boy I always enjoyed the various activities and play groups that we attended but finding Hartbeeps was on another level.

I adore working as a Hartbeeps Imaginator it is so rewarding and heart- warming to see all the little faces light up during the sessions the smiles on their faces and the Joy of seeing them engage in the different adventures we go on whether its deep in the Jungle of the Serengeti or back millions of years to feed the Dinosaurs at Jurassic Park.

I am enjoying the magical carpet ride that is Hartbeeps and look forward to many days of Magic Sprinkles and Twinkly Tickles

Lexi - Imaginator

I trained as an actress in London, I write my own work and have also done lots of different tours internationally and closer to home.

Since 2019 I have worked with Lottie at Hartbeeps! I love been a session leader and imaginator. I also teach drama to children through charities and at schools.

Drama, music and the arts is so important for children, it helps build such amazing skills and it’s also so much fun! I love creating different stories each week for the children to explore and learn. It truly is magical seeing how much they grow throughout the terms!

Having attended Lotte’s Hartbeeps sessions for a while with my little boy, I couldn’t wait to book her for his birthday. Lotte is fantastic. The pace of activities is great, never a dull moment. There is a varied mix of sensory, song and story telling all with incredible props. We absolutely love Hartbeeps and would highly recommend the weekly sessions and booking them for a party. Anna

Best classes ever. I have tried and tested almost every class in our area and I have to say there are no competition. My LO enjoys it allot, very interactive, musical and entertaining for both of us. I now have to chose a second class for her and I'm lost with what to choose.. Yelena - Dulwich

We started going to baby bells when my eldest was tiny, four years later we're now going to happy house with babies number two and three and still love it! Lotte and her team are endlessly enthusiastic and I've loved watching how my children have engaged with the different sessions over the years as much as they've enjoyed joining in with the Hartbeeps craziness! My daughter and I both love Hartbeeps -- I love seeing her excitement and delight at the new adventures we go on every week and it's the one class we've stuck with from newborn through to toddlerhood. What's brilliant about the classes is that though each week has something new, it's got a predictable structure that means it's reassuring and familiar for little ones. The songs seem a bit crazy at first but quickly become addictive. Our session leader, Lotte, is a large part of why we've kept coming back -- she's such a natural and made us feel at home immediately, even though we were both a little shy at first! Daisy (22 months) LOVES Happy House, she sings the songs on the way to our session each week and I often catch her doing ‘listening ears’ with sticks at home! The sessions are fun and lively with plenty of music, bubbles and just the right amount of repetitive things (Adrian the mouse always a hit!) and also new adventures each week filled with dressing up, singing and activity. After a tough delivery of my second child and a 15 month old to look after as well as a newborn, I really struggled. Thankfully we found Happy House and it certainly became our happy place. It was so wonderful to find such an engaging group with sensory stimulation that works for toddlers as well as babies. You get the opportunity to spend time with your children in a friendly and relaxed environment without having to run around after your toddler with baby in tow. Lotte always made sure my baby and toddler both had toys and props and were engaged in the class. We’ve been to quite a few classes where it feels like more work looking after your children than at home. If my older child loses interest, he starts trying to leave midway through classes. Thankfully, this has never happened at Happy House. The children so look forward to going on a Monday morning. Their faces both light up when the class begins. The songs from the class have integrated in our lives to the point that my toddler likes to have the Happy House quiet time simulated as part of his bedtime routine. I have been going to Lotte’s classes for the last 5 months. I can not praise her and hartbeeps enough. My little son loves the classes and so do I. He gets really stimulated and has lots of fun. Every week we live such a great adventure in the wonderful baby land! Lucia

Both my children went to Hartbeeps with Lotte and we looked forward to it every week especially the dressing up and wig wearing! A quick note to say how sad we were when you finished up in Forest Hill and we are so happy you are returning to our neighborhood.
