Hi my name is Donna and I am Mum to my son Brodie.
I developed a keen interest in infant and child cognitive, social and emotional development when studying for my undergraduate degree in Psychology, my interest was then furthered through working with children in a variety of settings during and following completion of my degree.
A number of years later I embarked on Doctoral training in clinical psychology and here is where my keen interest in attachment began. My day to day work as a clinical psychologist allows me insight into the impact that early relationships and experiences have on a person's life and it is this that fuels my passion for providing opportunities for babies and parents to have quality time embarking on a learning journey together.
Having my own baby brought all my theoretical knowledge to life and I experienced magical feelings I had not known before. With an interest in infant development, I was proactive in joining baby massage and sensory classes with my son. I thoroughly enjoyed these classes, however when I experienced my first Hartbeeps class I realised that I had found something different, different, and in fact magical.
During this class I felt so close to my little boy, it was as if he and I went on a magical journey, a journey of wonder, fun, and discovery, for an hour we escaped the reality of life and we experienced wonder together, just the two of us. I was sold on Hartbeeps from this moment and with each new step I took into the world of Hartbeeps I became more and more excited as I saw the potential these classes had, not only for baby and child development, but also for the relationships babies were building with the adult they brought to class with them.
I am very excited about bringing the magic of Hartbeeps to the Dundee area and I look forward to welcoming you and your little ones for lots of fun and memory making in classes soon, with magic sprinkles,
My name is Nicola and I am an Early Years Practitioner currently working as deputy manager at a private nursery in Dundee. I have almost ten years of experience working with children under 5, have recently completed my PDA (Professional Development Award) in Childhood Practice and am currently undertaking the BA Childhood Practice at Dundee University. In recent years I have developed a keen interest in child development and in particular attachment. This is what attracted me to Hartbeeps when I had my own daughter and was looking for classes to go to with her. I started coming to classes and immediately could see how child centred it was and the wide range of experiences it offered my baby. I am delighted to be part of the Hartbeeps team and to be able to share these experiences with you all!!
