Hello, I'm Helen. I own the Hartbeeps franchise for Greater London/Surrey. I am a qualified primary school teacher with seven years experience and I am so excited to be embarking on this new and exciting Hartbeeps journey. I have spent my most recent three years teaching in the Early Years Foundation Stage and it was here that I found my true passion for teaching. Babies and young children are so rewarding to work with; their sense of curiosity and adventure is totally inspiring and the way in which they learn is just fascinating. I adore my role as a Reception teacher and I will continue to teach one day a week. However, I am thrilled about the prospect of working on child development from a new and creative angle which isn't measured by tests and assessments but instead on enjoyment, interactions and learning through play.
During my maternity leave I attended my local Hartbeeps class with my daughter, who was four months old at the time. We were both instantly hooked! Every session was high energy, fun and interactive. I could really see where all the early learning goals were being tapped into, something which wasn't always clear in other classes I had attended. Each week I watched my little girl grow in confidence and make huge developmental leaps. She responded so positively to the familiarity of the songs, actively participating with the actions and smiling from ear to ear.
We still attend every week as she just loves it so much! It has been amazing to watch her progress and light up when she hears her favourite songs or spots a shiny new prop or meets a new puppet friend! From fishing down at the river with the elves to building sandcastles at the beach to taking a sleigh ride to the North Pole; the adventures in baby land are endless! The sessions flow seamlessly (and tunefully!) from one section to next and have the perfect balance of familiar (to make baby feel secure) and new (to keep things fresh, exciting and awe inspiring). I also really enjoy getting carried away with all the fun, singing and silliness and capturing some cracking photos of my daughter in all her hilariously cute costumes. It truly is the best tonic when you're exhausted and need a little bit of light-hearted fun and quality time to enjoy your baby.
I am thrilled to be starting a business that I genuinely believe in and feel passionate about and I am really looking forward to meeting you and your little ones at classes soon.
Love and magic sprinkles,
