Hola! We are Christine and Abigail (Mummy and Daughter) living on the Costa Del Sol!
I am mum of 3, stepmum of 2 and nanny of 5!
My working background in the UK, prior to having my children was within the Financial Services Industry as a PA and Company Secretary. However, after bringing up my children I changed direction by taking a preschool child development course and consequently working with preschool children from birth onwards. Firstly, as a support worker for the Local Health Authority in baby clinics and then as a teaching assistant for nursery and reception aged children.
I find no greater pleasure than to be with my own children and grandchildren and love nothing more than caring for and entertaining little ones.
Having watched my daughter, Abigail, find very little choice to fulfil and occupy herself and her son, Archer, over the past couple of years, I felt compelled to carry out some research and find something wonderful to bring here to Spain and Gibraltar that has not as yet been available for parents and their babes previously.
On a trip back to England in March of this year I was fortunate enough to discover the atmospheric, magical, fantastic world of Hartbeeps in the Early Learning Centre in St Albans! I was captivated by the music and interaction of parents and their children and could not take the smile off my face!
Now, Abigail and myself cannot wait to introduce and share with other families living here in the sunshine the fun, friendship, learning and welcoming warmth that is Hartbeeps and enjoy the difference we know we can make to lots and lots of parents and young children.
After I attained my International Baccalaureate at school in Spain, I worked for a large finance company in Gibraltar and then decided to work and travel my way around Australia. I am now settled with my partner in Estepona and proud to be mummy to beautiful 22 month old Archer.
Although Archer and I have the greatest fun together, I have found it difficult to meet other parents with young children in my area and to find structured, educational, friendly and fun activities alongside other like minded families.
Thank goodness for my mummy for discovering the creativity, music, visual impact and wondrous journey that is Hartbeeps.
I have always had an immense interest in early years child development and have wanted that interest to become more of a reality. I now feel excited and confident that I can pursue a career embracing and putting into practise my desire, along with filing the huge gap for preschool activities that is so obviously lacking here at present.
We know that by offering the magic of Hartbeeps to families living here we will be opening up a ‘whole new world’ that will benefit us all. What an exciting prospect, we can’t wait!!!!
